When the battery is below or equal to 5% in the charging case the AirPods are not charging rather they are loosing charge. Is this issue with air pod.. I have attached screenshot show that the issue can be understood.. both the screen shot are taken inside the box and taken in time gap of 30min... Also the charge symbol in visible in the screenshot beside the charging percentage... But it it's losing the charge

I discussed this issue with one of my friend and he is also having the same issue if the charging case is having charge less than or equal to 5% the Airpods are not charging rather losing the charge.
