Stuck Power Button on IPhone 12 Pro

I actually has the same problem. The lock or power button not responsive as the volume button. When you press it there's no "clicking" sound. I brought it to Apple for a replacement but they were oos. So I returned for a refund and order another one

same thing happened to my iphone 12 just today. I did not want to take it to apple because i need the physical phone for work. Everyone knows that taking a phone to apple directly can result in a long wait time until it is fixed sometimes even months. so instead of pouring water around the buttons. I found a simple safe and very fast fix that you already have in your home.

my side power button became sticky and did not click and would not work unless i pressed hard. so i turned off the phone first and foremost and began the quick 30 seconds fix.

I took a qtip and soaked the tip of the qtip with regular old rubbing alcohol and simply rubbed the soaked qtip around the button for a few strokes while pressing the button a couple times. and BAMM! sticky button fixed. no more issues. rubbing alcohol dried within seconds after applying so no internal water stains or damage.

I got an iPhone 12 mini last week, and after about 4 days, my power button lost its "click" but still functioned. Two days later, I started to get tired of the feel of pushing an unclickable button, so I decided to look up ways to fix it, and I found this thread. I was going to try to clean it with a Q-tip, dry at first, wet if needed. But to my surprise, the dry Q-tip totally worked, and my power button is clicking perfectly now. Hope this helps anyone with a similar issue. No need to send your phone in for a replacement.

i had the same problem with the power button not clicking anymore like the volume buttons do. I ran water over the power button for a couple seconds and now it works just like new. I’m assuming dust gets collected causing the issue.

I think there is because mine starting doing that after a week. The power button is getting stuck. I have the pro Max 12

My power button is working, but it is stuck slightly down and not making any clicking noise when pressed.

I would suggest returning within the 14 day period .. and waiting for messages on this thread to stop before purchasing a new one .. which is what I am doing. Thank you for making your post.

I don't trust running under water, but a I did a quick spritz of lens cleaner on the button and then wiped with lens cloth and button started clicking again.
