Apple Watch Series 6 - Unable to Set Up Cellular - ERR0093-WS

I'm unable to Set Up Cellular on my daughter's new Apple Watch Series 6. I've spent at least a couple hours on the phone with AT&T who are saying the 'Wearable Plan' is activated on my AT&T account. Yet after multiple reboots of both my daughter's iPhone 12 and Apple Watch Series 6, I'm not able to Set Up Cellular and receive a ERR0093-WS error in the Watch App on the iPhone. Both the iPhone 12 and Watch Series 6 have the most current OS's.(iOS 14.2 & WatchOS 7.1(18R590)). The Apple Watch itself says 'No Data Plan' when I tap on the cellular symbol. I've tried calling the Watch directly to no avail. When I try calling the watches phone number I get, "The wireless customer you are calling is not available..."

I've tried resetting, powering off, unpairing/pairing...etc

AT&T said the issue is a known issue and I should try turning the iPhone and Apple Watch off in about 4 hours, then turn them on and try to Set Up Cellular again. I have zero confidence that it will work.

Any ideas????

Regards...

The representatives in the AT&T store were not able to get it working. The AT&T store technician stated that the incorrect EID number had been assigned to the Watch; which is why it was not working. I spent about 2 1/2 hours at the store while the reached out to various AT&T Customer Service and Advance Technical Support teams in an effort to get the proper EID assigned...to no avail. The initial AT&T Customer Service rep could not make the change for some reason. AND We could not get on the phone with Advanced Technical Support(after waiting in queue for over an hour) before the AT&T store had to close for the night (9:00PM EST). I'm going to try a couple things today.

  1. Confirm that all of my E911 address information is accurate, based on the suggestion from 'Eric-F' above.(Although, I doubt this is the issue)
  2. Reach out to Advanced Technical Support myself to take another shot at troubleshooting.

If plan 1 & 2 do not work. I was actually told to take my Apple Watch back to Apple and get it replaced.

I'll keep everyone posted.

After at least 10 hours of over the phone waiting in call queue and troubleshooting with AT&T plus 2 1/2 hours in their store...I give up! I've been in the call queue for AT&T's Advanced Technical Support(800-331-0500) for over 2 hours. Absolutely abysmal support service. Shame on you AT&T!!!! I'm going to Apple tomorrow to replace the Watch. If they do not replace the Watch, I'm going to return it for refund. I'm going to cancel my AT&T line for the Watch too. I'm also contemplating making a switch to Verizon. (I'll take my $200.+/mth. business elsewhere)

I have the same exact problem. It's a shame that they continue to sell devices that aren't fully operational on their system, but don't tell you up front. The sales people in the store behave as if they've never seen the problem before. You call AT&T customer service, and they behave the same way. After 8 hrs on the phone over several days with their fake troubleshooting I finally asked for a supervisor. She told me it is a known issue affecting a large group of customers. It is absolutely shameful, and here we are during the holiday season and they're still selling the watches without a disclaimer that cellular data may not be operational. How is that legal?

I’m literally at the AT&T store and they had to call advanced technical support at AT&T. We’ve been waiting on hold for advanced technical support to pick up.

I’m told by the store tech support that the issue is related to the wrong eSIM number being configured. We’ll see what happens. I’ll report back the results of my AT&T store visit.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 12 and iwatch 6. I spent over 3 weeks with att advanced tech support with all kind of promises that it would be fixed within 24 hrs. I read on line about someone un-pairing their watch from their phone, switching their SIM card for the one in their wife’s phone, pairing their watch to that SIM card, going through setting up the phone to number sink it, then un-sinking the watch and switching back the SIM card and sinking it to his phone with the original SIM card. I tried this and it worked perfectly. When I got to the part about setting up cellular it skipped right past it. Two things you have to do are turn off “find my phone” and when resetting the watch don’t remove your cellular plan. The problem is not the watches but the phone. I have no idea why this works but I suggest researching it. It made my day
