Weird graphic colors on my iPad

I have tried the smack and the reboot on my iPad, which worked once for a few seconds, but the graphic negative type colors remain in my iPad. What is my next step?

Windows, Windows 6

Have you dropped it? Did that mess up the colors?

If not, could someone have played around in the accessibility settings? In iOS14, go to settings, accessibility, display and text size and in there are settings to alter the colors of the device.

If the device was dropped and the colors are weird, your best bet is to back up the device then make an appointment at an apple store (if open) or authorized service provider and look into getting it replaced, either under apple care plus accidental damage clause, or an out of warranty replacement. The ‘guts’ of an ipad is mainly the battery, mother board and connections to the display. If it’s dropped and the colors are weird that can mean the equivalent of its graphics card is damaged. Your device may work fine for a while, or it may die.

I think it’s time to keep your device backed up so you don’t lose any data and make an appointment at an apple store (if open) or authorized service provider and have the pros look at it. It sounds like something is going bad inside your device and that it’s beyond a user fix.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news....i guess on the bright side if your device is out of warranty and has to be replaced there is likely to be ipads on sale next week for Black Friday.

I did not drop it. I was just using the iPad and all of the sudden the colors went weird. So I can eliminate the dropping issue or someone playing around with the settings. I have now played around with the display/accessibility setting so that I can see enough to use it. But photos are negatives in my photos. Website pics are fine.

eliminating the two things you suggested, are the odds high that it is my graphic card?

Thank you.

For the most part, yes. Most photos in safari appear fine. Every once in a while, the screen clears up but it only last for a second or two. But all other graphics beside photos are affected. So I don’t think it is in the camera app? Games screen are weird, colors in a graphics program I use are anyone’s guess as to the true color I pick to build an ad. Home Screen is discolored...etc....
