The application “Microsoft Update Assistant is not open anymore
I recently updated my MacBook Air to Big Sur and ever since then I get a message that "The application “Microsoft Update Assistant” is not open anymore" every so often.

Two Things to Do:
1. Contact Microsoft Support:
They are the Developers of this software.
Start Here: Microsoft Contact Us Virtual Agent - Microsoft Support
2. Provide your Feedback to Apple:
Do your Part: Inform Apple of your feedback of this issue. Include how you’ve troubleshot this, and your results. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive from its users, the more likely they will know what needs to be fixed, and what their customers prefer in updates, and future macOS versions to come.
- Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
- Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
- Select: "User Interface" for the "Feedback Area"
- Proceed from there as necessary
