Big Sur "network accounts are unavailable" Corporate login fails post upgrade

I've upgraded to Big Sur and afterwards my corporate account is locked out. When I try to log in there's a red button in the top right that identifies "network accounts are unavailable". The Mac prompts me to set a new password but then shakes and refuses to take the new entry, not surprising as the red button indicates that my corporate authentication server is unavailable.

I contacted my IT team and they confirmed that at least one other employee is experiencing the same issues having also upgraded over the weekend.

Has anyone else had this problem and resolved?

Greetings adiebaker,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! It seems you and a co-worker are experiencing an issue with your corporate accounts being unavailable.

Reach out to the Enterprise support team for assistance with the behavior if the issue is persisting:

Kind regards.

My computer login is tied to all kinds of things at my university. Server access. Grading system. Wifi access. I worry about screwing up something much bigger because of this bug. I was really hoping there would be a patch for this before the spring semester started, but here I am, wasting another 2 hours of restarting the computer and trying to log in. It'll work for some reason every once in a while.

Thanks Chris, but unless you have an Enterprise support agreement they don't want to talk to you.

I did temporarily resolve the issue by deleting my corporate account and re-creating it which worked for a few days. I logged in this morning to find that I'd been dropped off the Microsoft Intune platform (used for MDM) and when I re-synchronised, both my personal account and my corporate account had been flagged for password renewal (sorry, don't know the technical term but both said my password had expired and needed a new one). I was able to create a new password for my personal account but now my corporate account is locked out completely as before. This behaviour is exactly as when I first upgraded to Big Sur.
