Time to Leave notifications stopped working on my iPhone

For years, this has been working fine. Since iOS 14, the notifications have stopped for me. In Settings -> Calendar -> Default Alert Times, I have "Time to Leave" enabled. In Settings -> Notifications -> Calendar, I have "Allow Notifications" enabled, and all the categories are set to "Banners, Sounds, Badges."

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Calendar is set to "While using the App". "Precise Location" is enabled.

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services -> Significant Locations is enabled.

Timed alerts work just fine (15 minutes before an event, for example.)

The events have a valid location set. When I open the event, I can see the map at the bottom. It knows where it is, it just won't alert me I need to go.

Solving my own problem! Tried everything I could think of to no avail. Eventually went to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Location & Privacy and that fixed it.

Hello Jon,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are having an issue with Time to Leave notifications for events in the Calendar app, even after trying some good steps. At this point, we would like you to reinstall iOS on your device; this will help us isolate the situation further. Reinstalling iOS should not affect any of your data, but it is always a best practice to make sure you have a current backup in either iTunes or iCloud.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once you have a current backup, follow the steps from the "If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up" section in this article:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen

Use the “Update” option and not “Restore” and these steps will reinstall iOS. Keep in mind that these steps were written for a different issue, but they will still help us isolate the situation further.

Cheers!

Thanks for replying, Jon, and that additional info, it really helps! Next, use your Mac or PC to backup and restore your iOS software to factory settings, as this process erases the information and settings on your device and installs a fresh copy of the latest iOS software. Temporarily set up your phone as new to test your issues, and then restore your back up and test the issues again.

If you are still having this issue after restoring the software on your iPhone, please contact Apple directly for further assistance with your situation.
