cannot add outlook to mail acccount (Mac OS Catilina) 10.15.2

Recently started having issues with outlook mail(hotmail) in mail app. It disappeared unexpectedly so I attempted to add it again. I followed the following steps: open mail app>clicked on menu bar under mail to add account>add other account>mail account> entered email address and password> got error -unable to verify account or password.

Was able to open outlook mail in outlook.com and other platforms that support mail services.

I can open outlook mail in mail app on iPhone and iPad with no issues.
