Right AirPod will sound static and then disconnect

My AirPods hold a good charge, but every 10-15 minutes my right EarPod will sound static and then disconnect. The left keeps playing. I have to forget this device and then reconnect. Problem comes right back. Each time the right AirPod drops out it will show a charge of +85%. They are about 1-1/2 years old. Any suggestions?
