Hello Lel97,
We understand you are still receiving texts to your old iPhone, and would like to receive them on your new iPhone. Also, your messages aren't sending as expected either. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.
Have you reached out to your carrier about not being able to send text messages yet? The settings you're looking at in Settings > Messages affect iMessages, but shouldn’t affect your ability to send regular SMS, especially to Android cellphones. Also, an active SMS plan is required in order for iMessage to activate, so not being able to send SMS may cause iMessage to not work either.
Did you set your old iPhone back up after resetting it? If so, follow the steps in Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime to remove your phone number, specifically this section:
If you don't want calls or messages for your iPhone on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, you can remove your phone number. There are two ways to do this:
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Select your Apple ID at the bottom of the screen and tap Sign Out. Then go to Settings > FaceTime, select your Apple ID and tap Sign Out.
- If the phone number that you want to remove belongs to an iPhone that you can't access, change your Apple ID password. This removes all phone numbers from your iPad, iPod touch, and Mac. Calls or messages for the removed numbers won't appear on those devices anymore."
Complete these same steps on your new iPhone for iMessage and FaceTime. After that, turn iMessage and FaceTime off and restart your iPhone. Once it's back on turn iMessage on and allow it to activate, and then you can sign back into your Apple ID for iMessage. Complete this for FaceTime as well.
Have a great day.
