I was updating my iPhone X with cellular data it wasn’t downloading fast I realized it is at 3G so I have to change it to LTE so it can run faster. So after changing it I went to the update and realized it has stopped and is requesting for WiFi connection before it will restart the update...
Can someone please give me a suggestion??

update is possible with WiFi connection only, cell does not work. WiFi nowadays is almost everywhere, so should not be a problem to get public one.
another option is to update phone connecting phone to computer with iTunes
That’s very much correct, but what I don’t understand is how the it stopped downloading when I went back to change the connection from 3G to LTE and has started requesting for WiFi connection before it restarts the update again
only guessing, not sure it is so: when you change connection type, iphone gots disconnected for short period, meaning that download is interrupted. on connect, it cannot resume previous download, for whatever reason, and assumes it new download session and asks for WiFi
