Big Sur - Compatibility with iMac Confusion

Apple's website states that my Late 2012 iMac 27" is not compatible with Big Sur

The Mac App Store listing of Big Sur states that it "Works on this iMac" [Late 2012 iMac 27"]

Who and what am I supposed to believe?

I'd like to be able to upgrade GarageBand which requires Big Sur, but am at a cross-roads as to what I should do.
