the right and left shift buttons just stopped working, what do i do

This seems to be a common problem but I haven’t yet figured out how to get shift to work again, any advise!!!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379


Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
