Issues with iOS 14 (.1, .2) Text notifications, slow typing...

I have an iPhone 8 Plus, running iOS 14.2. Since the new update, I am having the following problems:

Not receiving every text notification, SMS or iMessage
Slow typing/not showing what I am typing during texting
Copy/paste/select is almost impossible to use (very important for my job)
The incoming call banner makes it hard to answer the phone
Deleting messages after I have sent them

I can do a hard reset, and the text notification thing will work for a little bit. And it's not all the time. I saw where iOS 14.2.1 launched to fix the text issue, but it's only for 12s.

I tried all of those things-nothing has worked. I am talking to more and more people who are having similar issues with not getting the text notifications. I feel like it's some kind of bug in 14.2, and it's affecting more customers than just those with a 12. : / I am also still having a lot of trouble with the new copy/select touch. It is too sensitive or something, and is just really difficult to use.

I am having problems with both cellular and Wifi. I have done a hard reset, and will try your suggestions. Hopefully it helps. Thanks!

Hey there, djjazzyerf.

After reviewing your post, it appears that you're encountering multiple issues with your iPhone 8 Plus after updating to iOS 14.2. You're encountering issues with notifications from the Messages app, slow performance when typing, issues with copy/paste/selecting, incoming call banner, and messages being deleted after those are sent.

We know you've already done a force restart, but recommend trying a normal restart: Restart your iPhone

Before a normal restart, you can try disabling notifications for Messages in Settings > Notifications > Messages and then enable those again after the restart.

Do you notice if the issue with notifications happens when your iPhone is connected to cellular data, Wi-Fi, or both? You'll want to ensure that you your iPhone is connected to a strong reliable network to receive notifications properly.
