Macbook Pro & LCD Display Monitor

My LCD Display Monitor works perfectly when Macbook Pro plugged into power. But if I unplug from power, even thought battery 100% charged, my monitor goes black... ? Any ideas? Thanks ...

Hello mcqeenica,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

Based on what you mentioned, you want to use your external display without power connected. It's extremely possible that this is a concern related to what the LCD monitor requires. There may not be enough power to maintain the monitor (meaning it requires a separate steady delivery of power). While your MacBook may be able to charge other items, it's not to be compared to a power block or outlet. Check out the requirements for power on your LCD monitor.

"USB-C is a USB standard that supports power, data transfer, and video output simultaneously." This does not specifically state that the port or the Mac is meant to power other devices. Learn more here: About USB-C on Mac.

Best wishes!
