safari wont upload documents

Hi there,

I've been trying to upload documents on safari. This appears to be an issue on multiple websites. The drag and drop function works. However when I click browse documents no pop-up appears to display my files to upload. Also a file transfer website wouldn't send me a verification email using the drag and drop method. I don't know if that's related.

I can upload files with google chrome. It looked like java wasn't installed on my computer so I installed it, but it did not work. I also tried using first aid in the disk utility and restarting my computer. This didn't work either.

It might be important to mention that I haven't been able to update macOS due to lack of space. I was deleting some file and could have accidentally deleted java. I'm using MacOS Mojave

Hi there, Rgum. Thank you for posting your question to the Apple Support Communities. From your message, we understand that you are unable to use the pop-up window to upload documents in Safari. We know that an issue like this can really get in the way and we’d like to help you find a solution.

Something like this may happen if you have pop-up windows disabled in the Safari settings. We’d like to provide you with the following Apple Support article to help you manage these settings:

Block pop-ups in Safari on Mac

We hope this information provides you with a clear solution so that you can access files to upload again.

Cheers!
