No alters for messages on new iWatch 6

I never get text message alters on my iWatch, brand new 6. Always get the message but no notification that it has arrived. My watch mirrors my iPhone and they work on my iPhone when it is unlocked

Messaging issues on Apple Watch Series 4 Hello, I'm wondering if anyone is able to help... My iPhone X and Apple Watch Series 4 don't seem to sync up with each other, if I delete a message on my iPhone it isn't deleting it on my Watch, similarly if I reply/open or delete a message on my Watch it does not mark it as read/delete it on my iPhone. I've tried all of the usual resetting it, unpairing and repairing, switching off iMessage etc. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if they've been able to fix it? Any advice is appreciated! RealGallacher
