Finder in Big Sur
How can I adjust the width of columns in Finder? The method I used with Catalina does not work (for me).

And if you press ⌘+3 and select the column separators in Column view, it works the same way. If you need the right-most folder expanded view wider, you may have to widen the Finder window before dragging its right-most separator to the right.
I am not able to "select" the column separators like I can in list view. Nothing happens when I select, even with option, or cmd or whatever pressed. All I am able to do is move the slider bar (the one between columns) up and down. I appreciate your help Viking!
The handles for the column separators are at the base of the columns, the two little marks:

Meg,
Not seeing this in Big Sur, which is what the OP is using. But I do see the selector appearing when hovering over the column boundary, as shown here:
In list view (e.g. ⌘+2), the same separators are in the headings as have been there for years. Once clicks and drags on these separators to resize the individual columns.
Yes, you are correct. But I want/need to adjust the column widths in the column view option.
Thanks for the quick reply!

Meg's suggestion is working for me using Big Sur, and Finder version 11.0.1. 😊

I'm using Big Sur. Maybe a dark mode issue?
