Moving music from iphone download folder to music app

I have researched all kinds of workarounds but is there a way to move the song that I just downloaded to my phone (so it's sitting in the download folder) to the music app (without going to itunes on my mac)?

I do not have itunes on my phone - I just want this album I've purchased to live in the music app rather than the download folder so it can be included in my song shuffle.

Am I correct that there is no way to do this without first transferrring the songs to itunes on my mac and then onto my iphone via synch?
