iPhone 12 mini message notifications

Okay here’s what’s happening. If my phone goes to sleep/locks when I have a message thread open, the person will text me back but I will not get a notification.

Same thing happens if I swipe up from the bottom to exit a text conversation and the person texts me back.

It’s almost as if since I’m not fully exiting or closing out the conversation, it’s not registering as a new notification.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Random "muted" notifications for texts on iPhone Frequently I fail to get a notification for a new text message. I do not have anyone deliberately "muted". It is random and affects all senders. It only happens when the phone is off. If I have messages open I get the notification. I'm using iOS version 16.4.1(a).

My iPhone is no longer notifying me when text messages arrive Perhaps since the latest software upgrade, my iPhone is no longer placing a "notification" message on the front screen when a new text message arrives. Notifications are turned-on in general and for the Message app in particular, yet nothing shows up.
