How to create transparent images that work with pages on the iPad?

How do you create images on the iPad that work with the pages text wrap around function.

E.g. Like the giraffe and butterfly logo?

Reading here they need to be png files with an alpha layer.
What app on the iPad can create such images and how.

I want to be able to draw an image on the iPad and next use it in pages directly.

iPad, Other OS

I realized that the iPad has a lot of problems with the images with transparency in the way you are trying to use them.
I have a similar problem i have tried several ways to insert images with transparency as the Giraffe and The butterfly, but i already have a collection of images in my Mac, but when y synchronize it with my iPad the images lose The transparency, i try diferent ways to insert an image that works correctly, but only one way works fine, copying and pasting from Safari to pages on the iPad, I save the image in The Photo library and then try copy-pasting and it works, but inserting the same image using The menú inside pages, inserts the image with a white background. iPad have a lot of problems handling images with transparency, one or two ways that works fine, but the standard ways doesn't work.

Im desperate to get my PNG files into iOS with their trancparency preserved so i just bought that app but it doesn't work, I only have a save to photo library button and I can't find any of he options you mention :-(

After a great deal of investigation, I'm not sure it's even possible, by all accounts ths is an iOS problem, it can't deal with transparencies. My photos already have a transparent background before and, it's putting them on iOS that screws them up.

Some people have had limited success using copy and paste, but that's not much use if you only have the option to select a picture from the library :-(

Really annoyed Apple hasn't fixed this and I'm wasting money trying to fudge it

I'm looking to solve the same issue - expect I would like to take a photo from my photos and take away the bg- transparent background on the iPad.

And then bring into pages.

Touch draw is a vector drawing app - it supports transparent background - its more of a visio type drawing app for layouts , etc.

Using that you have to change the canvas color - opacity to 0 , then send as email in png to yourself and then you can copy the incoming email's image right into pages, keynote etc. it works - but I just want a tool to take photos I have - pick a magic selector and delete the bg.

I will try to read up on the latest adobe ps app on iPad to see if that can do it - or even iPhoto ?

Ok Solution found

Get Adobe pS touch- 9.99 this app is really neat - go thru the tutorials!!

You can import any photos

Then goto thru the tutorial to learn how to create layers - and select / masks ( if you're not familiar with photoshop)

It's pretty easy -

Then you can email photo to yourself as png - then just copy the png from the incoming email - and paste into pages.

Make sure you're on the latest ios 5.1 -
