Reinstall Mac OS on old Mac mini

Hi,

Can someone help on steps to reinstall Mac OS on old Mac mini? I had removed earlier MacOS and installed Ubuntu on it. Now I want MacOS back on my Mac mini.

Regards,

Abhi

You can not install Big Sur on a 2012 Mac Mini.

I only suggested installing High Sierra, because it is easier on the 2012 than the later macOS Catalina.

I suspect at this point, because you never upgraded the Mac Mini thru the normal upgrades from 10.8 to 10.14, that sadly you will be forced to download and install the latest macOS Catalina. Problem is, because you removed the earlier macOS did not follow the normal upgrade path, there is no way to start it up in macOS Recovery Mode. Which now forces you to erase and install macOS from an external source like DiskMaker on a flashdrive.
