How can I set one of my alias email to be my default email address in mail

How do I go about setting my default alias email address when I responding to an email

iMac, OS X 10.11

Hello jteelnm9 and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you have a question about setting a default account for sending email.


The process for doing this will depend on the device you're using.


On a Mac: Mail > Preferences > Composing > Send new messages from


On an iPhone, iPod or iPad: Settings > Mail > Composing > Default Account.
