How do you make a contact a favorite?

The do not disturb on the iPhone allows gives you the option of allowing calls to come through from Favorites. (or a group)

My Question: How do you make contacts Favorites? (and how do you see who your favorites are?) I can't find this on my Mac or iPhone. I would expect a check box in Contacts or a way to list who my favorites are, but I can't find a way to do it.

As work around, I can create a group and add what would be my favorites to it.

Creating Favorites is probably easier than creating groups. You can do that right on the iPhone.

Open a Contact that you would like to make favorite.

Contacts App ➔ Open a Contact Name ➔ Scroll Down: Add to Favorites ➔ Tap on the Phone icon ➔ Tap on the Phone Number : This will add that phone number and the contact to the favorites list. You can add as many as you like.

You can then open the Phone app ➔ Tap on the Favorites tab (Bottom Left): Here you will see the list of your favorites. A favorites list/group should also form on your Mac to reflect this change.

As explained in: Use Contacts with Phone

"Prioritize your contacts. When you add someone to your Favorites list, their calls bypass Do Not Disturb and are added to your Favorites list in Phone for quick dialing. Choose a contact, then scroll down and tap Add to Favorites."

Your favorites will be displayed with a red asterisk in your Contact list.
