My Macbook Pro 13" needs the charger to start, even though my battery is in 55%, 20%, etc.

My Macbook Pro 13" doesn't start without the charger lately, no matter the level of the battery. I actually manage to switch it on, but once it's on the screen goes black and after a few seconds the trackpad doesn't respond. So I have to plug in the charger to help it start. What is wrong? This has started to happen after almost a year of using Adobe programs like Illustrator, InDesign, XD Adobe, and Dreamweaver. Could this be related? Is there an easy fix? Thanks for the help!
