My iPad updated software and now says it can't be activated

my ipad (first model) updated software and now says it can't be activated. I've tried forcing restore/update and it won't complete. 22/11/20

If yours is the first model, it is an antique. Even if you get it running, you will be disappointed as it lacks the necessary components to run today's apps. You can try this link...it says phone, but applies to iPad also.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sure it's an antique but it was working perfectly until it did an update. It does everything I want it to do so I'm more than a little mythed that it's been made to stop working. I had tried that procedure in the link but I get a message saying it can't be activated. Looks like I'll have to try the shop next.
