It depends on the extent of the damage. If the drive is ok, you should be able to. Do you have a backup on an external drive? You should always have one. Tell Apple that you need to get data off the drive
Do not plug it in or use it.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar or use the link in the upper right corner of this page to initiate a repair ticket. You will need to have it examined to see what the damage may be - water and electronics do not mix well.

Also, would i be able to retrieve all data? Word, excel and powerpoint docs for example? What can i do to retrieve it all? I have got cloud but my docs don't appear in it on my iphone.
Data can get lost no matter who works on a computer. Authorized service or not is irrelevant. And, Apple includes that warning in their paperwork; after all, you are responsible for your data - no one else is. And, if the parts are corroded, there is no way to "repair" - it needs to be replaced.
If you care about your data then you shouldn't choose the autorised service. You will lose you all data in any case of "repair" it's hard to call it repair as all what can they offer is only new parts.
