Keyboard marks on laptop screen not coming off

I have keyboard marks on my screen that don't come off when I wipe with a cloth or with alcohol and water. Is it permanently stuck to my screen?

The manner which one attempts to clear smudges or marks from a portable

computer display, may appreciably accelerate de-lamination effects on there.

In more normal times, one could get appointment with genius for advice.

The 'stain-gate' topic has been spread across several ASC threads, for years.

To say, the keyboard marks may indicate an abrasive effect akin to delamination

& so a distinct possibility. Passersby in this Community may find that, plausible.

An online topic - answer - was offered by a macbook user there:

Q: "what is the best way to prevent keyboard marks?"

"..the marks are caused by the oil and acids from your fingers, not by

the pressure from the keys. The marks are damage to the anti-glare

coating, and, as such, are not actual stains that you can clean off

without removing the coating.."

Speculative discussion may be dismissed by using 'send-in service' to Apple

to have the display inspected, with advisement on cause & replacement cost.
