It sounds like you're experiencing some issues downloading an app from the Mac App Store. We will be happy to help.
What happens whenever you try to download GarageBand? Do you get any errors? Can you download other apps?
What happens if you try signing out of the Mac App Store, and then signing back in?
- Log out of the App Store on your Mac (Menu Bar > Apple logo > App Store, then Store > Sign Out).
- Restart your Mac : Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac
- Log back in to the App Store: Store > Sign In
Once that is done, see if you can download.
