How to delete duplicate contacts in iCloud.com?

Hi, after setting up two Macs with Big Sur I found that my iCloud contacts as well as the groups have been duplicated. I also use a Mac on Catalina and and an iPhone and iPad with the same Apple ID. Some of the (hundreds of) contacts are in there 4 times, some 8 times. Obviously I would like to avoid deleting them manually as some suggested in this community.

Is there any other way to get rid of those duplicates?

Well, thanks for trying to help. Yes, I read that. Have you? It says:

If you see duplicates in Contacts on iCloud.com, visit Apple Support for help.
If you see duplicate contacts only on your computer and not on iCloud.com, follow the steps below.

I see duplicates on iCloud, so I visited Apple Support. I found nothing helpful there ("select the objects you want to delete and delete them", ok, yes, works, but I have hundreds if not thousands and they still increase). THEN I posted here.

Any other idea? Thanks a lot!
