Final Cut pro quits unexpectedly when trying to share to master file.

My Final Cut pro quits unexpectedly when I try to share project to a master file. I tried to update but this page says Final cut pro has an incompatible update. Not sure what to do next. Thanks in advance.

Start by deleting preferences.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

If deleting preferences does not fix it, you have to tell us exactly what version of macOS and FCP you have, what your mac is, how much free space on the drive.

For more complete information, also please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.

As a first measure delete the preferences.

Hold down the option and command keys when you launch FCPX and in the contextual menu that pops up select "Delete Preferences.

FCPX will open with no Libraries except for a new one entitled "Untitled"

You will need to navigate to one of your previous Libraries and double-click it for it to open.
