The cursor dot won’t move

How can I get the cursor dot off the screen on my iPad Pro ?

I have another question. I have the iPad Pro 11 with the Magic keyboard. I have the AppleUSB-C Multi port adapter. I plugged a flash drive into the adapter, but it does not seem to recognize it. What am I doing wrong?
