Big Sur - Safari won't open link to Teamviewer on web page

Safari (or Firefox) opens a pop-up that says "Would you like to allow this app to open Teamviewer" (or choose an application in Firefox), you click allow and the window goes away but nothing happens. Is there some funky security thing that's new in Big Sur? This all worked perfectly before the update.

Hey schlags8,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We see from your post that you're having issues with allowing a page to open in Safari. We'd love to help out.

Try changing and customizing your settings for websites in Safari to allow this to happen:

Change Websites preferences in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

Customize settings for each website in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

Cheers!
