How do I remove popups on my MAC laptop?

While adware was certainly a possibility, popups are also just a normal fact of using the Internet.

To greatly reduce how many of these you see (and all but eliminate redirects), install an ad blocker. There are a few good, free ones in the App Store. I have Ka-Block! on our Macs.

It may be possible that your Mac notebook is "infected" by malware/adware. As such, I suggest the following two things:

1. Run an EtreCheck report. Optionally, post it here if you need assistance with interpreting its results.
2. Run Malwarebytes for Mac to see if it can discover ... and remove, any existing malware/adware. Note: It comes with a free trial period for you to try it out.

... and I assume by that answer that it didn't detect anything? If so, Kurt Lang has brought up an excellent suggestion to try.
