I have macbook pro late 2011 10.13.6
in September 2019 I had an SSD 500gb and new battery installed.
from what you say, Catalina does not seem viable.
unless the new SSD makes a difference?
would you think Mojave might be workable?
appreciate your help
Not sure if earlier post went through.
I have macbook pro 13 inch, late 2011 0s 10.13.6
from what you say, Catalina would not be workable.

what about MOJAVE? do you think this would work?
one of my main interests is upgrading some apps, such a PAGES, which I am unable to upgrade as "not compatible"
Very appreciative of your help
thanks
SSD will make a big diff, but I'd try Mojave first... much easier to upgrade than have to downgrade. :)
Look into the Free LibreOffice, it handles MS Office files like Word & Excel…
Thank. I will try Mojave
will let you know how it works out.
thanks again
FWIW, the latest version of macOS you can run on a late 2011 MBP is High Sierra.
