Shanghai transit card?

So this just happened....

I purchased the iPhone 12 Pro Max from the Apple store. As I went through the set up, It had a Shanghai Transit card on my “brand new” phone. It did disappear once my info was uploaded. However, I did return it as I wanted a brand new unused phone. I was shocked to read on here it’s happened before.

can anyone explain this? Do you think this was a refurb sold as new from the Apple store. Very shocking!

No direct apple services in Sri Lanka Dear Apple, Im from a developing county called Sri Lanka. You may not know, in Sri Lanka the new iphone 13 pro max (128gb) is sold at USD equivalent value of 1,817/- which is really unfair considering the current situation in the county. Please advice your authorized agents if available in Sri Lanka to consider about the price as they are getting undue profits from your product. Thank you.
