New iPhone 12 Activation Lock

I am transferring data from old iPhone to new iPhone 12. During setup, both phones needed to be updated to iOS 14.2, after which the old iPhone turned Find My Phone back on and caused an Activation Lock on the new phone. Now I can’t swipe up to unlock new phone or finish transferring data. What do I need to do?

I'm sorry, but I don't see how updating iOS on a device would turn on Activation Lock. That has to be done by logging into an iCloud account with a password. If you were doing this from your iPhone, the worse case scenario would be that it would be your iCloud account. When you go to activate the phone, it should ask for your iCloud ID and password.
