Trade in M1 MacBook Pro for newer Macs

Hi,

I just had a short question that I was curious about. I know that every year Apple silicon will continue to get better. In about a year I’d probably like to upgrade again from my new M1 MacBook Pro, however usually, at least online, newer macs aren’t eligible for trade in. So, I was wondering, could I just bring it to a nearby Apple store and trade it in for a GC or store credit? Thank you so much in advance!
