getting very old voice memo back

when I switched to a new phone around two years ago, a lot of my photos and recordings were gone from my phone, in particular my voice memos. There was a pretty old (2015-ish) recording of my grandfather in my voice memos, who has since passed away. It was the only time he ever gave a recorded interview, is there any possible way I can get it back?

Hey anya232,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We see from your post that you're having trouble with a deleted voice memo. We'd like to help!

Try these steps:

Use the Voice Memos app - Apple Support

"Voice memos stay in the Recently Deleted folder for 30 days and then are deleted permanently. You can recover a voice memo if it's still in the Recently Deleted folder:

  1. In Voice Memos, tap or click Recently Deleted.
  2. Tap or click the memo that you want to recover.
  3. Tap or click Recover, then tap or click Recover Recording."

If you still have issues with this, you can try restoring from a backup that contains the voice memo:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

Cheers!
