Macbook pro has slower wifi than my other devices

Hi everyone,

After the recent OS update, my Macbook pro has a slower wifi download speed on the speedtest websites than my other devices.

I am currently getting around 300mb/s on my iphone, whereas im getting 60mb/s on my macbook pro 2020 13" (not the m1) in the same area.

I'm not sure if this helps, but i had 100mb/s internet until a few days ago and switched over to 500mb/s but all my other devices seems to be able to utilise the new speeds apart from my macbook.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with your internet speed your MacBook Pro which is slower than you expect.

Have you restarted the router?

Have you run diagnostics? If your Mac doesn't connect to the Internet over Wi-Fi and Use Wireless Diagnostics on your Mac

Have you ever tested on another Wi-Fi network?

What happens if you go into safe mode? Start up your Mac in safe mode.

Do you get the same speed in a new user account? Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.
