When I'm looking in the event monitor of my New Macbook Air M1 I get a looooot of this error.
KERNEL - Failed to write key xxxxxxxxxx to SMC with error code 86.
Is somebody observed the same issue ?
I've reseted the SMC : NOK
I'm currently reinstalling BigSure from scratch.

Same error. Solved by terminating apps I installed last through Activity Monitor. One by one. Turned out AdGuard was causing this error for me.
+additional symptom: poor battery performance.

not sure how to quantify that metric, but it plumits, even when running”nothing”.
See this too, brand new M1 MBP 16gb - would have thought some of that iOS stability would have "ported" to the Mac on the same architecture.
M1 macs do have an SMC. It’s the system management controller. It’s certainly present. It’s clear from the kernel extensions alone.
Definitely NOT solved; running Big Sur 11.2 beta.

Same problem here. Reinstallation didnt helps. Poor software quality! Nobody checked it :(

That would at least be a plausible explanation for the error. How could this have been overlooked?
Yeah, it doesn't seem to actually affect the day-to-day on my Mac mini, but it doesn't mean I'm any less curious about getting to the bottom of it ;)

This started happening for me with 11.2.1 (20D74).
It seems like macOS really is getting more like iOS. All the glitches and lags start to come over.
