books not syncing between iPhone and iPad

recently the book I am reading on my iPhone Xr and iPad 7 is not syncing. This may have started happening when I updated to iOS 14.2. I have made sure the settings are correct on both devices.

Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know of a solution?
