How do I select several words using trackpad?

Trackpad Click and Drag Issue When I click and drag to highlight text using my trackpad, it does not highlight more than one line at a time. I cannot select an entire paragraph, or page of text, without deleting one line at a time. This issue just arose a few days ago; my trackpad worked before. Is there a solution to this?

Double click and drag. Or click to put the cursor where you want to start, then move the mouse pointer to where you want to stop, press Shift and click the trackpad.
