After my iphone 6 updated to 14.2 the external microphone cuts in and out. I tried another microphone but the result is the same. I have all siri settings, on all apps turned off but what I see happening is siri coming on and off as the mike cuts in and out. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix?

I find this hard to believe myself, but I found a post about similar symptoms which recommended blowing all phone ports with compressed air. I looked in mine and saw nothing - all looked clean, but I did it anyway and now everything is working. Thought you might be interested.

Are you using a Bluetooth microphone? If so, try the steps here to check for any sources of interference: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference.

It seems as though the issue may be related to the mics not being compatible with your iPhone after the update. You may want to check with the manufacturer to see if they are able to provide any suggestions.

As far as I can tell, all the internal microphones work as normal.
We have two iphones, both iphone 6s, two microphones and two transmitters, two cables to connect receiver to iphone, but only one receiver. We have tried every combination of hardware.
If I use the external microphone with the voice memo app I can see the audio waveform cut in and out. When the mike cuts out the siri thing appears, when the siri thing disappears the mike works. On both phones we have siri options disabled on all apps and everywhere there is a switch for siri.

I guess I spoke too soon. The issue persists. The external microphone works fine for phone calls but not on Facebook. Next week we are going to try using a phone that is still 14.1, if that does not work the problem must be with Facebook.
