kid entered incorrect passwords in an old ipad and now I'm locked out of my ipad. I know the password but ipad is telling me to connect to itunes. When I do, 'can't connect. value is missing' comes up? what can I do now?

My grandson entered incorrect password on an older ipad, so I'm locked out. I know the password, but the ipad says connect to itunes. I connected ipad to macbook, opened itunes, and get a message saying iTunes could not connect to this iPad. The value is missing. What is the next step to unlock the ipad?

The reason you are locked out is because your grandson did it too many times. If he keeps getting it wrong after the 1 minute, 10 minute, 1 hour, and so on, it will eventually completely disable the device.

It will start with the disabled part, just keep scrolling until you see the device with black screen and computer.
