Recommended Monitor

I currently have a LG 4K monitor from the Apple Store and I'm looking for something bigger - mainly wider. The 5K monitor is nice but it's that much different in size as my current monitor. If I didn't have a monitor at all then the 5K might be justified but as a upgrade its' not really that much better.

I've been lookin

g at the MacOS forum and watching lots of Youtube videos but I'm even more unclear now. I get the impression that if you deviate from the LG models made for apple you will probably not be able to control sound volume or brightness from the mac keyboard.

Also Big Sur seems to have caused issues for some monitors. I have a MacBook Pro 2018 with Catalina at the moment.

Could anyone suggest a wide monitor which would be used for development purposes but needs to display 4k resolution. I only have usb-c output on my MacBook Pro. 27inch wide minimum.

Ideally something which I can get in the UK.
