iCloud storage payments

If I were to buy, let’s say 50GB of iCloud data and pay for it for the month of december but cancel it in January so it wouldn’t renew would I still be able to use it until it runs out? Or would I immediately be reverted back to 5G before the next payment?

You'd be able to use it for the remainder of the current billing period.
