iPhoto not working

Hi,

I have upgraded my Mac installing MacOS Big Sur. Since then, I cannot open iPhoto anymore (not supported anymore apparently) and I lost all the pictures I had. When I try to open iPhoto, it says that it needs to be upgraded but there is no option to do it.

My question is how can I recover all the pictures I had ?

Thanks in advance for your help

Rocco

Photos replaced iPhoto several years ago.

Launch Photos with the option key held down. From the resulting dialog choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new library from your iPhoto media. Your iPhoto Library will not be changed, though it will be renamed.
