iPhone 7 lagging

Hi,

After I unlock my iPhone it seems to lag/run slowly on the Home Screen until I move the pages back and forth a few times. Tried a factory reset twice and mailed into Apple for service but they couldn't find anything wrong with it and sent it back unrepaired?

Is this normal for an iPhone 7 which is only 9 months old? If not, what could be the issue and could I resolve?

Thanks!

No, the lagging is not normal. You can try and ➔ Force ReStart your iPhone to see whether that resolves the issue.

Few things you should note and they are-

  1. The iPhone 7 may be new to you (9 months) however the iPhone 7 and its hardware was introduced over 4 years ago. Several iOS versions have been adapted since then and apps updated since then demand more and faster resources. The point I am making is that the iPhone 7 may be new to you however it will still perform like (it should) a 4 year old iPhone.
  2. You have the 32GB version which is very tight in 2020/21 times. You will fill the storage up (if you haven't already) very fast and especially if you have photos and other media stored on it.
  3. If your iPhone has less than 4GB free storage space left then you may experience performance issues such as lagging and frame drops etc. Keep some free storage space so that your iPhone can use that space efficiently to write and read (caching).
