clipboard problems

When I copy an image, the clipboard only shows it as text. My operating system is Catalina.

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

When you copy an image while in the Finder, its name, not its contents, are placed on the clipboard. This is normal behavior from the Finder.

I was using preview & copying an image, but it always shows up as txt on the clipboard & does not paste. How can I fix this?
